FISH!

Today at work we had FISH training, and wow was it inspiring! We watched a video of Pike's Place Fish Market in Seattle, Washington to show how much fun they have at work and how they interact with customers. The group discussed four simple principles to making your day, or someone else's day better. This also included making your work environment enjoyable and a place you WANT to go everyday. I must say that I am a lucky girl because this lady was preaching to the choir. I am very blessed.

Now anyway... what are the four principles you ask?
1. Be There
2. Make Their Day
3. Play
4. Choose your Attitude

The End. That's all. Simple as that.

I'm not going to go in depth and discuss each principle because it is very self explanatory.

I am writing this post about my training because we shared stories to show how Principle 2 makes you feel all mushy gushy inside.

**I shared mine about my parents visit!

**Another coworker shared her story about how she went through a drive through and when she got to the window, her order was already paid for by the car in front of her. She soon realized it was another friend who paid for her meal.

**A friend of mine shared a story about how she was having company one weekend and she was working so much and stressing about the cleanliness of her house. One afternoon, she entered her house and realized it was spotless. Her neighbor, who has a key to her house, came in and made her day.

More inspiring and heartfelt stories were shared and although I do this occasionally, it made me want to do things for people right then and there! I wanted to go to Dunkin Donuts just so I could pay for the car behind me. SOMETHING!

So...do something to make someone's day. It honestly makes you feel great inside and you know you put a smile on someone else's face. If people see your act of kindness, it might inspire them! Pay it forward!

Happiness All Around

I was involved in a dance show this past Friday and Saturday. Now, I'm 5 hours from everyone else in my family so I wasn't expecting anyone to show up but I was totally okay with that. I understand our home situation and the distance. To my surprise, my parents made the drive and surprised me on Friday! I cried because I was so happy! I also used to dance with a girl named Anmarie and I call her my Mia Michaels she's THAT special. She texted me and said she wouldn't be able to make the Friday show but she hoped to get there Saturday. Another surprise for me, she was there Friday night! I couldn't believe any of it. I'm glad she and her little one loved it! The baby was kicking her belly when she/he heard the drums from the African dances! Earlier that day on Friday we put on a performance for the staff and students at school. All of my babies and coworkers were allon the balcony waving at me. Then on Saturday I had a whole posse of friends (and my boss) come watch. It was beyond amazing. I realized how blessed I was. Seriously.

In addition...I wanted to post these song lyrics to one of my favorites.

Imagine there'sno Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm adreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as
one

Ohhh if everyone could think and act like this song. When I hear this song, I think of hope. I see the beauty of children working together despite their differences every single day. If only we all could have faith like a child.

Do something nice for someone today.
